Anyone remember how nice it was when Intel fought AMD with the Core 2 Duo?

I was just discussing this the other day with a friend.

I would go with the 3570k, it will crush the 8150 in every benchmark, any day of the week.

I'm pretty sure he's not doing that because his friend's old computer broke and it had a warranty, so he's getting the $400 from the warranty subtracted from the cost of the new one.

Intel is getting lazy in the performance leaps, Core 2 Duo>Core i3 32nm, Core i3 SB 32nm have had good gains. Now they seem to flog chipsets out at an alarming rate, 1156 has had to be the most redundant socket!

With AMD providing no competition, Intel doesn't need to rush out and panic about AMD beating them. They just need to make slight improvements and keep their profits up.

AMD at this point, has no hope in time unless a miracle happens, not only do they go from just beating the Core 2 Series they now lose to their previous gen.
Whats gonna be next, Phenom 1 Performance with P4 Power consumption?

im sorry but sometimes its more than the ghz went up... 22nm and 3d transistors represent one of the biggest leaps in the industry in the last 10 years
