Budget $500, ITX build

Thread Starter
The purpose of the build is for general use/ low to med setting gaming if needed. By budget of $500 is firm and the lower the better.

No need for Accessories, RAM, or HDD.

I have the SILVERSTONE Sugo Series SG05BB-450 with SFX 450W $119.99 in mind for the case to house one 3.5" hard drive and a budget/decent video card and maybe a low profile cooler for the processor.

For the CPU I have the Intel Pentium G630 Sandy Bridge 2.7GHz LGA 1155 65W Dual-Core $67.99 in mind. I am open to suggestions, would the Pentium G630 be more than enough to handle low to medium settings on modern games at 1080p as the most demanding use?

For the Motherboard I have the Foxconn H67S LGA 1155 Intel H67 $64.99 in mind as a cost effective motherboard.

For the video card I have the GIGABYTE GV-R667D3-1GI Radeon HD 6670 1GB $69.99 in mind for a entry/mid range budget video card. Would this video card be more than enough to handle low to medium settings on modern games at 1080p as the most demanding use?

So far the total price of these 4 items including shipping is $342.95.

How much more of a noticable gain performance will the i3-2100 give over the G630 in general use given these Anandtech benchmarks? I have considered it but I do not see that much of a gain in performance to justify spending $52 extra dollars. smile.gif

The GeForce GT 640 and the Radeon HD 6670 are pretty even in these benchmarking results and the bang for buck winner seems to be the 6670. thumb.gif

i3 seems to be at most times a 30% if not even more boost in performance according to your own benchmark link and I totally missed on the 640. go with a 550ti. my bad doh.gif

The 550ti seems to be overkill for the build, my girlfriend is fine with low/medium graphics to play Portal 2, Diablo 3, Left 4 Dead, Counter Strike or Bad Company 2. But overall does the current build seem decent for $343?

Looks pretty good to me, Sandy Bridge Pentium's are fine for light use gaming. If you want to save some more cash, the 300w Version of that case will be heaps for your setup. Just my 2c.
