Seasonic/XFX 1250W crimps

I have purchased a XFX 1250w psu, and I'm about to start sleeving the psu. I'm still waiting for my crimps in the mail, but being quite eager, I decided to de-pin one of my PCI-E 6+2 pin connectors, and I was quite surprised with what i discovered.

It seems as though on both ends of the ATX, EPS and 24pin connectors, the pins used are all ATX female. Is this normal, and by extension, will I be able to make my own cables by using MDPC-X's female ATX pins?

Its typical that on a modular psu that the pins are female. However that does mean you can make your own cables,. thumb.gif
