Whenever I have my 4870 X2 set as my main video card (as opposed to onboard), my computer hangs up when I try to enter sleep mode.
When I switch PCI-E slots, Windows and CCC will lose track of the card (and after a while, it will find the device and re-install the basic drivers and PCI information). In the time before Windows does the crazy "Installing hardware" stuff, I can enter sleep mode. Once it finishes identifying the card though, I cannot. Also, the issue occurs even if I do not have Catalyst Control Center installed. A fresh install of Windows 7 results in the same issue.
How does one get around this problem?
FYI: Situation doesn't occur in Ubuntu; nor does it occur when this card is in my other desktop.
Drivers: 12.6 Beta (should I try 12.5?) for Legacy cards (http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/catalyst126legacyproducts.aspx)
