I've been giving it some thought and have been wanting to make some improvements on my personal audio setup. This is what I listen to when I'm in front of the computer. I currently use onboard audio from my x58 classified and then run it to both a set of Klipsch pro media 2.1 and then to a corsa head-five, which push my akg k701.
Basically i have a splitter connected straight to the onboard output. From there one cable goes to the klipsch amp and the other goes to the head-five. When I want to listen to the headphones, I power on the amp and then lower the volume on the klipsch . I'm thinking about some sort of DAC which isn't too pricy. Probably some sort of USB DAC, but I don't know whats out there. I'd like to be able to connect both audio options too it. I thought about a sound card, but I don't need any type of multi channel. Music is the priority right now.
Budget would be somewhere around $100-150.
Thanks.
