Ok, what about head pressure?

Because from I read from different reviews, head pressure is more important than maximum flow.

So, when its comes to head pressure, which is better MCP35x or an D5-S?

Flow rate is hugely overrated. You should be able to drop down to ~ 0.2 GPM with almost no affect on coolant temperatures. A fraction of a degree increase maybe.

MCP35X has 14.7 ft of head pressure, the MCP655 has 13 ft, the D5 strong has 16.8 ft at 12V and 19 ft at 24V.

D5 wins! biggrin.gif

That build i made, space was at a premium and it made sense to choose the MCP35, that's really it's only benefit the pump had for me.

I would choose the D5 strong pump with a 24V pump controller.

I went with a MCP655, due to the MCP35X requiring a $15 heatsink just to keep from melting when turned up. So $90 for a D5 or $100 for the MCP35X. I'll just reach down and turn my little knob if I need to.

Yeah, this was the story i heard too (naturally, after i purchased it)

Rather frustrating to say the least. Now whenever i'm on the market for a pump, it's always a D5. Don't need the headache of reliability problems for something as important as a pump.

Yep. Would be nice to have a tach lead on the Performance-PC's Special Edition though. :/ Oh well, maybe eventually they will make a DDC that doesn't overheat.
