What happened?

Thread Starter
My computer is pretty much a mess as far as cable management goes, fan setups, and hard drive placement goes, it might as well be a bunch of components hook up but just thrown into a card board box.

Anyways as I was plugging in one of my fans, one of the molex pins came lose....the metal was exposed... cheap molex I'm sure you all know what I am talking about..

The metal part touched one of my loose hard drives, made a pretty loud zap noise, and my computer shut off... and wouldn't turn back on for roughly 20 minutes, and I tired everything I could to get it back on...

Anyways, randomly out of nowhere after practically going insane because I just destriod my computer, it turned back on..

Any explanation? I'm just curious, sorry if this is the wrong thread but I figured I'd be more likley to run into someone knowing what there talking about here.

Thanks, and yes, I've cleaned up my PCs insides.

That happened to me before. I accidentally touched an exposed wire from the molex +12V to the edge of my SSD. There was a spark, zap, and it instantly shut off. Turned on within seconds and it hasn't shown signs of problems ever since.
