Great build, all that aluminum / sheets must have cost a small fortune.

Thanks! Aluminum is dirt cheap, I got most of it for free though.

I think if I had to buy it though it'd be ~$75

I went over the $80 mark and didn't use much of the parts I purchased, though I wasn't re-structuring the case either like your case. Im looking to add a sheet somewhere on the outside of the case\ but would like to see how Aluminum looks like when its sandblasted or that finished look, so I donèt want to paint over.

Hard to get a decent look without putting some kind of finish on it since it'll oxidize.

Me neither, the heat dissipation off of dimms these days don't produce much and with the sort of voltages we see - we are actually adding restriction to the loop via the ram blocks. In terms of corrosion - the only other maker apart from XSPC is EK. The latter has issues with their nickel plating when running mixed metal loops(not with aluminium mind you but with copper in it)

But if its showroom quality blingyness then watercooling is the way to go - if home computing - cooling the real things are key like the CPU and GPU - and most often cooling the vrms(full cover block is a good idea for some mobo's) wink.gif

Thats true, I dont really want to paint over it since I like the industrial brushed aluminum look it will have. Im gonna see what I can do with my cases side panels, maybe some perforated steel or aluminum sheet somwhere on the outside or both sides to peer in, or plexi. Im looking around for ideas anyways.

* I agree the newer RAM modules can perform well at lower temps.

I'm tempted to go with the lower voltage ram> but after touching my Kingstons Hyperx Heat sinks on full load @ 1375 I can't say the heatsinks arnt doing their job of raising the heat away from the chip modules and the board itself ( or even get hot enough to be a concern)...I'll stick with tall and toasty RAM than worry about short ram modules getting warm and heating up the motherboards surface inderectly etc. The theory works well enough, the HyperX heatsinks are pretty thick...convectionaly sensitive to air flow as well [IMO] and pull heat away from the motherboard surface due to the tall heatsink design & are weighty.
