How many threads is BF3 utilizing? Games generally don't make meaningful use of more than a few threads, although they can make partial use of many.

^BF3 can use all 4 cores on my system with core 1 90-99%, core 2 about 50-60%, core 3 40-50%, core 4 60-70%. single threaded performance matters a lot as it stresses core 0 quite a bit.

interesting. let's hope they implement DirectX 11. let's face it, the source engine is the oldest and most outdated AAA game engine in the gaming industry. an update is long due.

I don't know the exact number, but enough to make the 2600K destroy the 2500K in multiplayer. It also allows a lowly bulldozer to achieve a higher minimum FPS than the 2500k.

i dont know for specific game,but i know that the main difference is 1 thing in a 2600 you get 4 core plus 4 virtual core(hyper threading if i recall1
so if your application isnt hyperthreaded optimised?(wich is the vast majority of stuff avail.the 2600 will be money sleeping !

It's odd to see a game that is that CPU-bound, generally games are GPU-bound until you have either a low resolution or multiple GPUs.
