It's been "exposed" for quite a while...

In fact, when my former company was swapping around old I-phones to the interns, it was an inside joke to wipe the HD's every now and then.

Corporately, this has been known FAR longer then they make it out to be.

The hold-up is that it forces Apple to change their entire EULA/Customer Policy if they want to combat the issue head on...
