Whats a good streaming media player?

Thread Starter
I am currently using an old ASUS Oplay R1, but its time to retire it, due to playable format problems.

- i dont need a hdd in, i only use it to stream over ethernet (altough its not a problem, if it has the OPTION to build in one)
- no need for 3D capabilities
- good internet apps would not be bad, like youtube in hd, browser, etc, but this not a requirement
- it should play every format, even those the R1 has problems with (for example compressed header, or in mkv embedded subtitles)
- would like to have a remote controller with backlit buttons smile.gif I know, that sorts out a lot of boxes, but is there any with such a remote?
- lets keep the price out of the question for now.

My favorite so far, is the new Egreat R6S. New realtek chipset, android embedded, good fanless aluminium chassis, but not really good remote, and ive read reports that it tends to crash sometimes....
What would you recommend?

Boxee box is still pretty solid and you can just replace the remote.

Or you want it to be more XBMC flavored, you could wait for the Ouya or even jump on the already release Pivos
