Current progress.

Hi there,
So since i upgraded my main sig rig in January i have had a motherboard, CPU and ram laying around that is still quite a capable system and i don't want to leave it to age into uselessness so i have decided to throw together a rig from things that i have had laying around. The theme for this build will be Black and red as i have never built a black and red themed build before.
The build will be based off a Lian LI PC7 Plus. Sadly it does have some problems in that it has been modded before by myself years ago and putting it short it was a half arsed job. Didn't prime the case before i painted it and some of the cable management holes are a little rough around the edges.
Side note if anyone can come up with a better name. Do tell.

Next the components that inspired the build in the first place complete with one of corsairs lovely new fans.
The actual specifications are:
Core 2 Quad Q8400 @ 3.2 GHz
MSI P35 Platinum motherboard
Corsair A50 Bought on friday that along with the New corsair fan as i was using an arctic freezer 7 before.
4GB of Corsair XMS2 DDR 2 800 ram
XFX HD 5770 1gb graphics card
the components (Click to show)
My Trusty XFX HD 5770 that only served as a stop gap when my GTX 260 called it quits.

I will be using a 60Gb SSD for the boot drive and an 80GB hard drive for the storage (not finalized may change)
Next the power supply, I am using a cheap-ish power supply that was sat in my case. It claims to be a 650 W power supply but when you actually look at the amperage's and do the math it only puts out 348 W on the 12V rail but hey-ho i have tested it with the system under full load and it handles it Ok.

This is a makeshift before picture as i dived in head first with this project ( fans of naked aluminium will want to shoot me when they see what i have planned xD)
The only difference is my case had a very crappy black paint job on it which was chipped and scratched to hell.

This is the beauty in its naked form. Sorry i don't have any before photos as i kinda dived in head first with this one sanding away but before it was not pretty. Very chipped as i did not prime and only used one coat of paint so it practically flaked off with a rub with something hard. (do cut me some slack on that one though folks i was 13 when i first got that case and did the mod)

The side panel mod looks fine from here but you will see what its like on the other side...
Also side note this used to be my main rig "The defender MK 1" years ago hence the sticker.

Yep, like a moron in my early days a few years ago i decided that it would be a good idea to use white duct tape to hold the window on
So the result is a messy horrorshow.
Not sure what to do here. I could either just mount a window in again or ditch the side-panel and go for a fully windowed side-panel. What do you guys think ?

Does not look bad i like the finish but it does not match the theme i'm going for so it will be stripped and repainted

This has already been sort of modded with a fan grill as the stock one looked crap and rattled (see the stock pic for reference)
Actually after googling the Atrix 500T came in a variety of forms a blue plastic then the titanium look with fan grille and the punched out grille like below. That's what my one had before the mods.

Internals look promising.

There we go. Sanded down ready for painting. I will do that when my etching primer arrives on Tuesday.

) of Clear LED fans they remind me too much of the bodged up cases of 2005 era. So i'm painting the fans black. and i'm also going to be sleeving the cables in black sleeving.
