I use a jail broken app called ProTube which is 10x's better than the youtube app anyways.

Me too! This is actual exciting to me because the current ui is terrible. Maybe google can fix it up

Granted I am on Android and dont know how the YT app is in iOS, I find it more convenient to use YT in the browser and not the YT app itself. Sometimes I am clicking a YT video or link and not even present with the Youtube app option.

Its actually a good thing. Now Google will publish a better app on App store which will be updated regularly and won't be useless like the existing one.

ProTube FTW! I'm glad to see the default app getting the boot. I wonder if we will be able to set a default video app now that the stock one is gone. Even just defaulting to m.youtube.com would be better.

It's only a matter of time. I think the 4S took longer then usual, and even then it was only like 2-3 months until it was jailbroken.

To be honest, removing the default Youtube app and let Google release a new standalone updated version is even better. The current default app is terrible; if you're on 3G, you're stuck with low-res video, you only get higher res if you're on wifi connected. Secondly not every video shows up in that app. It is very limited.

Good move, let Google create a better one. Youtube has changed a lot ever since they released the default Youtube App.
