Using two different brands of RAM. Will it work?

Thread Starter
So for the longest time, I've been using 2x2GB DDR3 1600 (G-Skill Ripjaws) sticks and just got 2x4GB Kingston HyperX sticks. Problem is, the voltages are different. Will it still work if I use both sticks though and set the voltages to auto?

G-Skill RAM

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231277

Kingston HyperX RAM
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820104173

CAS latency is 9 on both so I don't think the timings will be a problem.

As long as the timings are the same, you should be good to go mate. Voltage wise the motherboard manufactures may not approve but I think you might be ok with different voltages.

The timings seem the same, just my new Kingstons are rated at 1.65V while my original G-Skills are 1.5V.

From what I've been reading, some people say it will work fine since the voltages aren't too far apart. The timings are exactly the same amongst both of them.

hmmmmm, usually the voltage is one of the main specs that should be pretty much equal.. but then my bad, your on an AMD system so i am not sure as to AMD's IMC would handle a 0.15V difference sorry to not realize that smile.gif

Lol I'm afraid to try anything until I find solid evidence if it works well or not. Haha it's okay, hopefully it will work though.
