Yeah, what kills me is that I just picked up mine about 2 months ago for $219 and thought I got a heck of a deal. I upgraded from an Enermax 85+ Revolution (which is another great supply, just not fully modular, and I'm now into "sleeving") which set me back $300 just over a year ago.

To stay with the same quality, get more features, for just under 2/3rds price ... how can you not jump on that Seasonic Platinum 1000 for $186.99?

For $187 you won't find better than that Seasonic, as far as I remember there might be one or two better PSUs out there and even then the difference wouldn't be much. I can't remember the exact figures but its ripple suppression is ridiculous if that's the unit I think it is.

I ask friends to do that sometimes when they're travelling between here and the US (I got a Phenom II X4 940 for $60 in 2010 that way).

This is a VERY NICE (I have one), fully modular, very quiet, very cool running, very power efficient, top of the line name brand, excellent warranty (7 years), single rail, with 1000 watts of power!

How is their support when problems arise? I'm leaning heavily toward this but just need assurance that their support is solid.

The reason I'm looking at 1000+ ps is according to my Fluke I'm pulling between 8.0 and 8.7 Amps fully loaded.

The reason I said no Corsair is I currently have 2 Corsair units that no longer function properly. I have a HX1000 that absolutely refuses to run my setup ever since I went to 3 way SLI, ran 2 way fine. I spent the better part of 3 years trying to get a RMA for the PS and other equiptment and finally gave up. At least in my book Corsair is the absolute worst company for support. I have spent literally a thousand plus dollars on their products and am really disappointed . And believe me I've deault with some of the worst..Epox..Asus..MSI..Koolance.

It's unneeded, 8-8.7A on the AC side means <7A on the DC side (on your BFG unit), and power supplies are rated at output and not input. wink.gif

Where are you buying from and what is your budget?
