Has anyone tried pairing an AMD A8 with a really low end ATI card, like the radeon 6450?

bonus points if cooled and overclocked using a serious CPU cooler like the Antec H60.

Since you can find the 6450 for like $30 bucks online, you might possible end up with a cheap boost that way.

the h60 is not a serious CPU cooler. It is on par with other heat sinks.

I've got an A6 cooled with an Antec 920 cooling it. I've always heard that the 6450/5450 will bring down the performance of the APU.

Seems pretty serious to me. Liquid cooled. It generally drops temps at least 10 degrees over stock.

Its like Taking a Sempron and giving it a nice Cooler and A PCI video Card.

You should just spend like 60-80 for a decent Video card , and youll be able to play games on low to medium

I think adding a water cooler + overclock to an AMD llano machine would be great for itx systems with small PSU's.

Yeah , you could also add a card like the 430 and have the ability to play games , or adding a similair AMD card to pair the the IGPU

The integrated GPUs in AMDs better APUs (A6 and A8) actually aren't that bad for what they are.
