Fan Spliters, How many?

So with my new build plan I will run into the issue of having no place for a fan controller. So my simple question is this. I think I can use 1 fan Y adapter for the case fan ports on my motherboard. Thus connecting 2 fans to 1 fan port. At least I think so, but how many fans can I put onto 1 fan port before things start breaking or will this not work at all for me?

You can use as many Y connectors as you want.
But most motherboards will only support about two watts on the fan header, Judy don't exceed that.

Why not just run any extra fans off of a spare molex?

And if no room for a fan controller, how about just using a rheostat?
