Leopold Fullsized Cherry MX Blue

I am in need of a new keyboard because I am tired of my current rubber dome. I have done a lot of research into it and decided that I wanted the MX blues, I heard the blackwidow wasn't very well built
and had lots of issues. I also looked into the filco and ducky but they were a little to pricey for me. Someone pointed me out to a website called elitekeyboards.com, I looked on there and found the
leopold. I guess my question is, What will I expect from it and is it a good choice?

I think it would be better than a Filco.

 

I met someone on YouTube who commented on a Leopold unboxing video; they said that they owned both a Filco Majestouch and a Leopold and they feel that the Leopold is a slightly higher quality keyboard overall.

It's like advanced alien technology! :)

Meh, that's certainly debatable. Both are very solid choices though and you'd be satisfied with either. I love my ducky with blues. biggrin.gif

Leopolds IMO are very similar to Duckys, great quality and MUCH better than anything Razer has to offer. Filco is still the best IMO but for what you're looking for a Leopold will be just fine.

I use a full sized Leopold MX Brown that I got from EliteKeyboards. The build quality is awesome. I've played with a Filco and although I can't say it's better, it definitely holds its own against it.

I currently own a Leopold and for the money, you will not find better build quality. I really liked the idea of a removable USB cable as well for transport.

Don't forget the Leopolds use a different stablizer than Filco's, which is a cause of complaint for some people... but suits me just fine.

Filco's certainly have their following and there are some features they have that I prefer like the location of the Caps Lock/Screen Lock LEDs, but it wasn't a big enough reason for me to get one and pay the extra coin. A Leopold is a great place to start for your first mech for sure.
