The volts for the 4.8Ghz overclock may be good but the temps are still shooting well above 80C.

83c... not too bad. Especially for 4.8.

OP (sorry if you stated this), what cooler are you using?

Renairy,
Guess you are not going to try to delid this one, after killing your first two? tongue.gif

Anyway, this is about the same what I was seeing on mine, however, you need to run Prime95 for at least an hour. It takes mine about 30 minutes before it gets to a spot where it usually throws a 124 BSOD if there is not enough vcore. You will probably have to raise it a bit. Also, those temps will go up a little higher about 30 minutes into the test.

Bottom line, test for at least an hour. wink.gif

But looks like a decent chip.

yeah man 3rd time is the charm... lol
yeah i know the primes i have been running aren't exactly sufficient but it kinda gives me a rough idea at how much the chip needs.

ill end up leaving it at 4.5ghz 24/7 until Haswell hits the shelves anyway smile.gif
4.5ghz @ 1.17v is a decent and efficient overclock for the 3770k's i think.

Those are excellent volts for just 4.5Ghz. Dam.

The volts are excellent for 4.8Ghz, but not the temps. The point just was that his cooler wasn't good enough.

I thought the above prime was a 12 hour success and realized it wasn't when someone pointed it out. Does anyone know what socket Haswell will be using?

For water cooling at 4.8GHz those temps are pretty high.

Lol your claiming golden chip after running prime95 for 5 minutes. See if you can do 4.8ghz at 1.288v for 12 hours prime95, then I would say that is golden.
