I don't know about your wireless card. It could be PCI-E x4: the two short white slots, or it could be legacy PCI.

I see no problems with this board... it's got 3 PCIe x16 (maybe x8 on some, didn't look). The PCIe x1 slots (not PCIe x4) or the PCI slots will allow for a wireless card. Otherwise it could go in one of the spare X16 size slots that should accept any x1, x4, x8 or x16 card.

Looks solid. You don't need a lot of power for SC2, my computer runs it maxxed @ 1920x1080 and I get over 80fps with my sig rig. The biggest jump in power is from High to Ultra, if I run on High I am well over 100 FPS. Only recomendation, get a sick monitor. It looks insane on my Samsung 46" with the Clear Motion turned on.

So does this mean I have to change the motherboard that I chose?

I though the motherboard was compatible with the video card since according to the specs on http://www.gigabyte.us/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3856#sp, it has
2 x PCI Express x1 slots
(All PCI Express slots conform to PCI Express 2.0 standard.)

and the video card bus listed on http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3630#sp
is PCI-E 2.1, and from what I've read the motherboard will be able to support that 2.1 since there is backwards compatibility.

EDIT: Ok sounds good. You all just posted before I finished what I was typing, and thanks for the clarification.

They are compatible, but the video card actually goes in PCI-E x16

You should definitely go with the BEST Intel processor that you can afford. I went from an AMD processor to a 2600k and FPS doubled even though the video card in my 2600k setup is much worse than my AMD setup.

Well currently that i3 is the highest I can go to.

Anyway, I'm off for the night.
Thanks to all of you for your input.
I'll go to sleep and then order the parts in the morning after I revisit this thread to see if anyone might have posted any suggestions or objections with my choices.

I play alot of SC2 and It is easier to max out than other games. more CPU dependent than anything. The i3 will do just fine. that GPU should work just fine, just be aware that they are updating the graphics with the expansion "heart of the swarm" nothing major mostly physics and death animation, also the creep for zerg. However, they will most likely be doing more graphics upgrades with the third expansion so just make sure that GPU will last ahwile or board supports crossfire. Not saying change anything just saying be aware of it all.

I would recomend a GTX460 or 5XX series. If you want cheap go with EVGA B-Stock. I have both of my 460s from there and they have been running OC'd to 870Mhz for over a year and a half now with zero problems. Absolutely solid cards and the 460's have a great OC with them and can perform as well as a 580 if you get lucky.

First time building a PC just for Starcraft. Looking for input with what I have chosen so far.

Mouse has tracking troubles on multi-coloured pads, If you has small-medium hands it is palm or claw grip mouse. For large handed people only claw, go and buy ec1 if you want to palm.
