HD7850m OC advice

Thread Starter
I have the Envy 17 with the HD7850m which appears to be 67.7% of a HD7770 (desktop) clocked at 675/1000.

Now I used MSI atferburner and bumped the clocked to 880/1300 and it appears I can run games just fine? How do I tell if I am damaging the card? I am quite surprised why is it that its not artefacting crashing etc.

Thanks.

If you can run Heaven 3.0 or BF3 for half an hour without artifacts or crashes it means your overclock is stable and that too at default voltage. If it runs stable just enjoy the performance. its really great to be able to overclock 200 Mhz at stock voltage that too in a notebook. also monitor your GPU temps with a utility like MSI Afterburner. make sure GPU temps stay below 85c .

Watch your Temps on the MSI Afterburner App And Run a Program Called MSI Kombustor Which will stress the GPU and will show if you have Any Artifacts and will of course raise the temperature of you GPU So make sure you watch the temps.
