Problems + New mobo and CPU

Thread Starter
Hi everybody,
here's my situation:
I was running an I7 950 @ 4 GHZ on a P6T Deluxe with 2 480GTX's when suddenly one morning i turned my PC on and it started 'cycling' on and off. After a couple of times cycling and turning it off manually, it would stay on but not show bios or anything anymore. So i replaced everything on it, RAM,power, CPU, GPU with nothing attached to it (SSD, Etc).
not one single piece i replaced fixed it, so i was kind of baffled. Are there 2 pieces broken at once? So i replaced the mobo with another CPU aswell, which fixed the problem (this was a week ago). Just yesterday exactly the same problem happened (cycling and than no bios). Yet again i was baffled.

The guy from the computer store told me it could be coincedence or a rootkit in my bios that installed in my RAM (yes he did say installed in my RAM, i didnt even know that was possible). But since i swapped to P6T SE i biosflashed it to the P6T for SLI support without any problem, and that should clear the virus.

Now ive run out of spare parts, and well i believe the parts are older than 4 years so i was wondering to just buy some new stuff and be done with it, even though the performance will be marginaly better.

First of all, does anyone have any idea what the problem may be?

Second
If im swapping mobo and CPU which is the better choice for me? I use it for gaming purposes only. (besides school work thumb.gif )

Should i go for 2500k or 3770k?
What i would need is atleast SLI support 2* 16x PCI-E, preferably with a third PCI-e at 8x, USB 3.0 and SATA 6 gig ports.

Can anyone give me a rig for the 2500K and 3770K?

first thing everyone will want to know is your price range.
my guess is that the bios flashing is the cause of your problems.
have you jumped into there and looked at any of the settings to make sure everything is good?

Have you tryed to Hard reset the BIOS?

Unplug from wall.
Remove battery from MB,
Count to 10 and hold down Power Button.
Insert Battery
Plug in.

Thats what i usually do to Hard reset my bios.

Edit: Surely if something was in your ram it be gone once you removed the power from your machine?

I cant look at the settings cause bios DOES NOT boot, i doubt the reflash is the problem, since my other mobo had exactly the same problem, and adter the flash it was fine for a couple of days. I will try hard reset, but it will still have the crossflahed version, just default settings?
Pricerange: anything that is justifyable for gaming. I've got 2 480gtxes, i dont want to bottleneck those offcourse, and if spending 200 euro more gives me that extra year overhead for let say upgrading my GPU i would spend that.

Ye i think it will have the version you flashed and should just reset it to stock/default settings.

Ye But if its not the flash and just some settings stopping it from booting up then that would fix it.

Also i just looked online and it says to disabled the floopy disk and jmicron controller in the bios.

I also looked online about the rootkit thing and it does say; when its in the memory it will be removed once it shuts down. So that guy who told you about a root kit im sure he was just saying that for a sale
