Hi everybody,
here's my situation:
I was running an I7 950 @ 4 GHZ on a P6T Deluxe with 2 480GTX's when suddenly one morning i turned my PC on and it started 'cycling' on and off. After a couple of times cycling and turning it off manually, it would stay on but not show bios or anything anymore. So i replaced everything on it, RAM,power, CPU, GPU with nothing attached to it (SSD, Etc).
not one single piece i replaced fixed it, so i was kind of baffled. Are there 2 pieces broken at once? So i replaced the mobo with another CPU aswell, which fixed the problem (this was a week ago). Just yesterday exactly the same problem happened (cycling and than no bios). Yet again i was baffled.
The guy from the computer store told me it could be coincedence or a rootkit in my bios that installed in my RAM (yes he did say installed in my RAM, i didnt even know that was possible). But since i swapped to P6T SE i biosflashed it to the P6T for SLI support without any problem, and that should clear the virus.
Now ive run out of spare parts, and well i believe the parts are older than 4 years so i was wondering to just buy some new stuff and be done with it, even though the performance will be marginaly better.
First of all, does anyone have any idea what the problem may be?
Second
If im swapping mobo and CPU which is the better choice for me? I use it for gaming purposes only. (besides school work
)
Should i go for 2500k or 3770k?
What i would need is atleast SLI support 2* 16x PCI-E, preferably with a third PCI-e at 8x, USB 3.0 and SATA 6 gig ports.
Can anyone give me a rig for the 2500K and 3770K?
