I know we've even got some contests in the works for both those who haven't purchased ArmA II and played DayZ plus a few for the veteran DayZ survivors! Check my signature for server details including our Mumble. 
I didn't really want to buy Arma 2 just to play a mod, rather support the creators and now I can do so. Expected this to happen at some point but reminds me of how mods for HL2 became their own stand alones.
