Choosing a sound card

Is the SB Live! much better than the Audigy SE? Because I heard that Live is more for gaming and that the Audigy mic port dosen't work.

The Audigy is better for everything.

well thats good cause I own a Audigy SE and I was about to return it. What the different between the Audigy Se and Live? cause both cost the same
post #4 of 9
The Audigy series replaced the Live! series. There's no real difference between an Audigy SE or Live! 24-bit other than the driver that allows software based EAX 4.0 for the SE. The Audigy SE is basically a rebranded Live! 24-bit.

yeah, but didn't the live 24bit come out after the original audigy? the live 24bit was a revamped live... just replaced the old 16bit live cards.

idk... I could be wrong

Not everyone has that much money though. To tell the truth these 2 cards both perform almost identical to each other (since they don't have a real core on them, they can't utilize the "use hardware sound" during games, so the CPU still needs to produce most of the software sound.

Ya, it was semi-sarcasm.

How long until we get SLI'ed sound cards? 14.2 Surround sound FTW!!!!
