No, they're not. I don't recall the OEM for the sub-1500 units but the 1500w unit has a yet-to-be-confirmed OEM (unless Phaedrus wants to whistle-blow on that since he quit tongue.gif).

Edit; the guys at the jonnyguru forums say FSP are doing the sub-1500 units and Etasis is doing the 1500w unit. Again though, no official confirmation of this yet.

I see. Thanks for the heads up Chunky_Chimp thumb.gif

Still hoping that the NEX1500 is going to be a great unit to replace my Corsair HX1000 since I was lucky enough to win one for free on the giveaway. I'm going to be keeping my Corsair HX1000 on hand as my backup unit with the new power supply not having any warranty.

The EVGA is interesting as they have the best cable design I've seen, a San Ace fan just like Seasonic's X-Series and Platinum Series, a fracking handle, and no doubt a decent design inside. But cutting edge? Hell no. EVGA is never below decent and always features great looking gear, but its not enough. Its not platinum rated, not digital. So I bought a Corsair AX1200i. I plan on buying the red cables when they come out too.

Interesting, but I trust the AX1200i more. Just a gut feeling really. When the EVGA Z77 FTW Mobo came out, I liked it alot, but I like my Asus Maximus V Extreme a bit more. Asus just has that extra something that makes me choose it over the EVGA. I sorta feel the same way about the AX1200i VS the EVGA PSU.

That said, if EVGA floored me with reviews, I could see myself changing my mind for a side grade. But I think I will be happy enough with my AX1200i to not worry about it.

AX 1200i is a great unit, but it's not worth its cost atm, it needs to be below 300$ to be worth buying over other comparable units (like the Black Edition 1250 for example).

Thread Starter
I have advice for Maximus 5 owners, choose and PSU to have full complete, and one 3 slot half RAM DirectCU II.
Some PSU like this

But I think this PSU have week cables, you need some Enermax strong cables to hold one side of Direct CU II to stay right.
What a waste of Space for little 2GB RAM and some average OC.

Mainstream company with moderate part, disgusting service, agressive marketing and excellent experts who hold company.
I'm sorry ASUS hold them with money.
But company is without soul, totaly, only money. Realtion with customers Zero.
This Gold PSU, I mean with Gold Grill....gold paint.

Look Look what they put on box ASUS is No1 in Quality and Service.... Unbelievably.
They mean on this
http://www.customerservicescoreboard.com/Asus

Better to hide that part.
But some people praise yourself, customers talk different story.

Wow. I was really interested in that new PSU from EVGA, but after reading what Phaedrus wrote (then edited), I will pass. Sorry EVGA, you just lost a sale. frown.gif

I will stay with my annoyingly noisy and fugly Antec HCP-1200 (stupid 80mm fan, and no sleeving options), and Corsair AX850 in dual-PSUs set-up then. frown.gif

And why Corsair, why no support/love for Quad GPUs, and only 6X 6+2 PCIe cables? Why? So no Corsair AX1200i for me also. frown.gif

Just ask them to send you extra cables, it's free and only takes a couple of minutes.
