This.

Literally makes no sense, why bother even making it 27" if it's not even above 1080...especially for the price tag it comes with.

I'll stick a $180 60hz TN for now, until they get some common sense and release an IPS 120hz with a descent Resolution. Doubt it'll be worth it though since it will most likely cost a fortune for a while. I just wish the Foris FS2333 wasn't impossible to buy outside of Japan. =/

Thanks for the recommendation. Spent quite a bit of time earlier today reading several detailed reviews on this new GTX 660 SC card that just came out a coupla weeks ago and it looks to be just about as good as the 660 Ti series...

http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=992&Itemid=72&limit=1&limitstart=7

At $70 or $80 less than a 660 Ti, probably better for me to just get one of these for now and maybe SLIng it later if need be.

One really nice thing about these newer GPU cards...they're getting so efficient that one might be able to pair a couple up and still get by with just a 650ish watt PSU...a 750W power supply would almost certainly suffice. Think this new GPU may be a big hit for those looking for a good compromise between price and performance.

Price, major retail availability for returns, stock 144hz refresh rate.

I seriously looked at Yamakasi Catleap monitors but I frowned at the idea of getting it off eBay directly from South Korea, their 5+ dead pixel policy and possible PITA return process. Also possible power cabling and adapter issues I might come across.

I also looked into the 1440p Dells as well, but the pricing was too high for my tastes.

If Asus does come out with a 27"+ 1440p monitor with 120hz, I will be among the first in line with the naysayers here to get one. In the meantime, this monitor was a great upgrade from a 23" 60hz Viewsonic I used for the past 4 years.

There are plenty of reviews of the H model which is identical to this minus the 144 Hz PCB that the HE has. No reason to do another review of essentially the same monitor.

ASUS PB Series PB278Q 27" LED will come out 2nd week of October too

Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Series-PB278Q-27-Inch-LED-lit-Monitor/dp/B009C3M7H0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1348504682&sr=8-1&keywords=ASUS+PB278Q

Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236294&Tpk=ASUS%20PB278Q

But it is $200 more than the Asus VG278HE ($699.99) but it is IPS, 1440p but only 60hz I believe.

I would probably go for the 24" one if you are doing it for gaming and do not want to spend a whole lot of money.

i think you under estimate how good this screen looks at ideal sitting position, looks great and functions amazingly ... im 3 feet from my screen mostly and 2.5 minimum......i have to get 1.5 feet to it to see the pixels. you dont see them at all when you are playing a full screen game at full settings and 125fps
