I have a couple of questions regarding these, I just acquired my Raspberry Pi last week and it being a Rev2 board, has the additional RAM, USB port and ethernet connectivity. So my initial plan was to get a mains ethernet adapter to take advantage of the ethernet port.
However, I'm slightly confused on how they actually work. It boils down to the question: Do I need one or two of these things?
Common sense tells me I should only need one, if they run on a wireless network they should be able to connect to my routers wireless signal.
However, the other possibility that runs through my mind is that these use some sort of 'contained' wireless network that is outside of the routers wireless network. If this is true I will need a pair of these adapters, one plugged in near the router and another near to the RPi itself. Both of which are plugged in via ethernet.
So, which one is it?
Thanks,
Reflux
