Tri Fire with 7990 and 7970

With reports suggesting that the 7990 isnt far away would it be possible to cross fire it with a 7970 to effectively be a tri fire ?

crossfire would only go as fast as your slowest card so it would be like running trifire 7970's

Yes, just as it was with the 6990+6970. However, what the poster above me is trying to say is that, yes, it is only as fast as the slowest card. So if the 7990 has dual GPUs that run at 900, for instance, your 7970 would only be allowed to run that fast. I don't know what the 7990 speed is, so I cant say for sure, but all 3 GPUs would run at the same clock speed.
