In the other article (http://kotaku.com/5932011/final-fantasy-vii-quietly-re+released-then-taken-down) it said "as Square Enix's DRM protection wouldn't let them actually play it, since their servers wouldn't activate a game that wasn't technically out." which is odd, because I've been able to play it just fine. Managed to complete the stolen Materia sidequest today, actually.

Was anyone else able to activate it?

I tried this site but it say it doesn't support my country.

Back in those days bugs were just part of the game. It ran with less issues than any other game I can remember using at the time. They were still on part with customer service standards at the time... atleast their port was solid. Its one of few games from the 90a that I can still run with no issues.

im still running ff7, ff8 and some other psx games perfectly fine on my android phone, but maybe i'll eventually re-buy this to give some support, cause that is awesome of square.

It will have a price tag on it...so even if its worthless to you other people still spent money on it to get nothing.

I personally wouldn't buy it...but then I have completely played this game out. FF7 isn't a game you play for the graphics anyway...or the story...It seriously had the best game play out of any. (Though I can't help but like FF6 better for some reason). Since I've played it on the PS1 and on epsxe more hours than I care to think about...I am just going to let this one slide.

I totally agree. I think had they of have done so at some point in the PS2 era it would have sold well too. It was a very popular and fun minigame with alot of life and depth to it.
