Hi guys, i have seen this review on Geli Icy Vision-A, but there arent temps of VRMs.
Anyone here is using this cooler on 7970?

There is only AC Xtreme and Hybrid that can fit on 7970?

Resurrecting this one because I too am wondering about the Geli Icy Vision cooler for my 7970....

Seems to be the best gpu cooling upgrade I can get for ~$50.

Is that true?

Other suggestions?

Did OP ever get one?

I got one of these a couple of hours ago for my Sapphire 7950 . The card comes with a tiny little spit of a heatsink and absolutely no cooling on the VRM's or RAM.

I had to take a dremel to one of the included VRM sinks because this card isn't reference.

Running Core: 1100MHz @ 1.2V and Memory: 1375MHz (Haven't fine tuned anything just picked 1.2V and 1100 is the max that MSI Afterburner goes)

Highest temps so far playing games has been 65 'C on VRMS and 55 'C on GPU. Down from 100'C++ on the VRMS and 80'C++ on the GPU when overclocked. The Gelid is running off a motherboard header with a constant 1300 rpm fan speed.

I'm extremely pleased with this cooler, the one that came with the card was way too noisy especially when overclocked (and that's with a custom fan profile to reduce noise). I decided to get the Gelid since it's a LOT cheaper than the Arctic Accelero Extreme (In South Africa at least) and the Accelero is too big for my current case.

the Gelid Icy Vision-A 7970 is a good cooler. as for msi afterburner not showing speeds above 1100 mhz you have not enabled unofficial overclocking.

http://www.overclock.net/t/641299/guide-to-enabling-unofficial-overclocking-in-msi-afterburner

after finding your max stable overclocks using heaven / 3dmark 11 you can use bf3, crysis 2 to confirm if the overclocks are stable in games.

Thanks but as soon as I enable the unofficial overclocking in AB I get strange desktop artifacting/ corruption that only goes away when I disable the unofficial overclocking then reboot. Even without applying any overclocking.

Seems like Sapphire Trixx works fine though.

do not have two overclocking apps. if trixx works uninstall msi ab. use gpu-z or HWinfo32 for monitoring GPU core and VRM temps.

Trixx wasn't installed when the corruption occured and yes I'm using GPU-z for the VRMS temps. I am running the 13.2 Beta 3 drivers though - might have something to do with that but I'm not too concerned about it the card seems to be running happily at 1.1GHz.

Buy the arctic xtreme 7970. Best cooler available.

I did just that.

Hope to report smiles and not tears here in a few days when I get a chance to sit down and install this sucker...
