Loop/pump/rad questions! - Page 2

as Shortalien said, put a drain port somewhere.. its easier to pull out the loop if you have one.. I mean SOOOO MUCH easier. and as TSM106 said just get the mounting bracket so that you can mount the pump on the case wall.. I think pump upsidedown would work in theory coz of gravity will just pull down the coolant to your pump but I doubt its asviseable to use it in that orientation.

and for the rad at the back you can just test fit the rad for your top on it and see if it fits. if it does then delay it and buy another 240 rad so that you don't have to drain it all over again just to add another 240 rad.

I am building in the Switch, and also cooling a 3930K (+ GTX670 FTW), and I am going with a 420mm rad up top (XSPC EX420) and a 240mm rad in the bottom (XSPC EX240). I have figured that I could get away with just the top rad, but adding a 240 in the bottom makes me feel more comfortable in terms of headroom, not to mention that when I add a second GPU I don't have to worry about adding a second rad at that point which would be a lot more complicated in terms of redoing the tubing.

I would skip the 240 on the back, it's just clutter that won't affect anything when you already have the equivalent of 6x 120s inside the case. Also, unless you have enough hard drives that you can't fit them all in one HDD dock + the 3 available 5.25 bays, you would probably be best off mounting the 240 flat in the bottom.

Then, you could use a pump mount to hang the MCP35X from the bottom of the remaining HDD caddy, but it may make tube routing difficult. I would suggest mounting the pump via a male-to-male rotary fitting so that you can aim it independently of the res.
With the MCP35X, the heatsink is a bit of a no-brainer, as it costs $12 and significantly decreases the temp. For another few bucks you can mount an 80x15mm fan to the heatsink and drop the temps even more.
