Best OCing Processors besides Core 2 Duo

Thread Starter
Well I am making a custom PC but with the Core 2 Duo Its gonna cost me. What I need to know is is there any Intel Processors I can OC to near the speed of a C2D processor, even if its only near the speed of a E6300. Possibly get it around 3.4 Ghz with the right cooling? Im not sure but If anyone knows the second best OCing Intel Processor for around 120 - 150 please link me to it on NewEgg.

Thanks

It goes C2D>K8>P4 in terms of performance

You can get a P4 to 3.4ghz but it won't perform anywhere near as good as a C2D at 3.4

Well what about a Pentium 4 at 3.4 Compared to a stock E6300? How far of a difference are we looking at?

C2D at 1.8 should outperform a P4 at 3.4 by a bit

Well I heard AMD is good, but I sorta feel like I should stick to Intel since I want something that would run and I have had 2 Intel PC's now.

Ok, so as for Intel, P4 would be after C2D... and for AMD, what A64 Processor for example?

WRONG!!!!

Its C2D=Xeon>K8>P4

Here

Xeon is not Core 2 Duo, Its the same architecture but different name, thus satisfies your requirement

Anything over 2.2 with an AMD will outperform a P4 at 3.4
