Best OCing Processors besides Core 2 Duo - Page 8

if you take that 3.8 or 3.73 I belive it might of been vs the 3.0Ghz C2D when the C2D is only using one of the 2 cores

if I use both of my cores then the 3.73 or 3.8 or whatever it was then I would have no problem competing against it.

Dont know how late i am for mentioning it, but the Celeron D's have done very well at overclocking... 4.5ghz+ on air.

Ok but lets say I did get a Celeron D. How would it compare to a C2D overclocked that high?

Don't get the Celeron, seriously.

The P4 is inferior in every way possible to the C2D, a "slight" OC on the C2D would be enough to mop the floor with a P4 with a massive OC

Ok. I now have a total of 265 Dollars. I am going to buy a Lian-Li Pc-60 and Mod it by adding 5 fans total (2 in front, 1 on modded window, and 2 on top as blow holes) then I'd add lights and bull crap like that and have a good ventilated case that looks cool.

Example Below

I am getting the E6300, and If I can will OC as close as possible to the 3.4 - 3.6 ghz or maybe even higher mark.

I'd choose getting better RAM over a new case any day, you should do the same. Better RAM would mean better performance (1:1), a new case would mean a new case

Well Its ok I can get both more ram and a slick case. I'm getting two 512 MB RAM sticks so far, and I could upgrade higher eventually.

I meant getting 2GB now instead of 1GB

2GB will be the minimum requirement for everything soon enough, you might as well get it now

ummm.... are you sure you can do that? You sort of say it in an offhand manner. If you haven't had any experience with case modding and you expect to make something like that on ur first try, you are very mistaken. Go for the centurion, save some cash (Lian Li's are expensive!), and get some practice on the ceturion. It's pretty easy to mod and if you f up, you wasted 40 bucks instead of 90. Just my
