I think the Alienware cases look pretty cool IMO, if they reduced the price of their computers by a some what large or decent amount I would say it's worth it.

If you have loads of cash burning a hole in your pocket and have little care of actual value, then I'd say Alienware would be for those who really don't have the computer know how or the brains to make logical purchases...however, they do have some of the best customer warranty considering its owned by dell, and your investment would be taken care of by that.

Otherwise, it would be beneficial to learn a little about computers and save yourself some cash and still land up with most of your components have 3+ year warranties on them.

I wouldn't go that far. It's one thing to consider making a bad purchase of an overpriced computer if you don't know better. Now, if the person insists on making the bad purchase after being given plenty of information as to why it's not a good idea, then they deserve this contempt.

Alienware computers are good, but a very poor value for the money spent. And charging someone $150 to OC an i7 to 4.2 is highway robbery.

I won't even comment on the people who buy anything Apple puts out.

Alienware laptops can be decent but the desktops? Hell no. Hideously overpriced and they are not that well put together either. No saying the build quality is bad its but just average. If you don't want to build a computer your self then at least go to a computer shop and have them build you one. Even so you will get better performance and quality when you do it all your self. You know all the screws are tight when you did it your self.
