They can however not allow you to get it again.

yes, when the contract is over, not while it's still ongoing

It is thier service. They have every right to manage it as they wish. And unless it somehow impedes on your unalienable rights, and you agreed to it, then it will hold up.

It may not be the right thing to do, but you also aren't forced to use their service or games that use their service. That is your choice. As using their service is a privilege not a right.

As there are still people here, blameless? i think ( correct me if im wrong ), that solely uses GoG which provide DRM free games that don't get tied down like Steam games. Check it out if you don't like DRM; http://www.gog.com/

You don't care that any content you create is no longer your property?

Fo shame.

Or.... that you agree to these terms just be looking opening the "overclock.net" link?

Or... that if you post a build log, the ToS prevents you from posting to the same build log to other forums?

doh.gif

I dont know about you, but I care a lot more about what I create than what I pay for.

If you want to be all "up-in-arms" about something, choose the right things and don't flip-flop around.

I'm angry about the ToS for OCN, not steam. There is also a reason why I have no created anything that took work due to the loss of ownership, valid EULA or not.

You've already done so by bringing up cell phone contracts and other " examples ", why can't he use a pretty relevant example too?

You still have the right to sue them, you are simply agreeing not to. If you go ahead and do it anyway then they will revoke your account on the basis of breach of contract.

Well since you put it that way........ what a despicable thing to include in a TOS agreement. This is simply my opinion but anything resembling a "you sue us and we revoke account" clause should be illegal. Period. Full stop. If I sue some one or a corporation and I lose than they can seek damages from me. To try and muzzle consumers with threats is wrong. I don't care what company is doing it. Has Valve been getting sued alot lately? Do they expect to be getting sued alot in the future?

Now you're just taking things out of context. Look at the next sentence that you obviously missed.

As for general law, that's assumed. And they aren't doing anything illegal here.

Immoral and unethical maybe, but that's subjective to each and every person.
