Best MX Brown for $150?

Thread Starter
I'm not familiar with too many mechanical keyboard brands. I know about Filco, Ducky, Leopold, Razer (ugh), SteelSeries, and those big brands, but I would just like your guys' opinions before I make my purchase.

Currently, I own the Steel Series 6Gv2. While it's a great keyboard, I often do more typing than gaming, and I would like a board with easier-to-press keys. That's why I'm considering the MX Browns, since I don't like how loud the blues are, and don't intend to get any O-ring mods. From looking around, I found this Filco, and it looks like my best bet. Can anyone else back me up on this? I have no preference on the board as far as lights or macros go, since I have a G13 and my room is generally well-lit. Of course, if there's a better board in this price range with those things, I'll take it. My only stipulation is that it has the number pad, since I use a lot of the alt codes for forums.

Thanks for reading!

If u want backlights u can try the ducky shine (or the shine 2 when it comes out soon). Or else filco boards seem to be the best bet.

I can't really say it's better than the Filco board, but my X8 has browns, is backlit and can be configured to use macros. I'm pretty new to mechanical keyboards, but brown switches are pretty light, even compared to my Logitech G110.

I'll put in my 2¢. While you're at Max check out the Tesoro Durandal G1NL. That's what I have and am very happy with it. Unfortunately Max is on the high side of $$. eBay and Buy have it from the same seller as on Amazon but for $110.
