ATX Removal on Corsair AX Series - Page 3

I hate to be a jerk and not go digging through hundreds of pages of posts, but do the AX series have any capacitors or splits that I'm going to have to deal with hiding under that factory black mesh?

Seasonic and Corsair are the worst power supplies to sleeve....I actually gave up on my Seasonic cause it's so hard.
Getting the pins back IN are even worse..

I hear you, Seasonic(or XFX) has some tough pins. I don't see trouble to get the pins out, but on occasion, I break the pins. Waiting on my crimper to fix this and then its smooth sailing.

In what way? Wires vs Individual sleeving should behave the same way. If anything the sleeving will add bulk making it a bit harder to contain/keep uniform.

from what I have seen no.... but I've only looked at like 80% of the cables so far.

The way I see it if you have sleeved the wires it keeps them straight. Once wires become bent they are pretty much never smooth again. It hides the small kinks too.

The Molex and Sata plugs are obvious because they aren't sleeved as you know, but the pci-e ones might have caps and the 24 pin could have just about anything hiding under that mesh and shrink wrap. Just my curiousity killing me. I don't want to dissasemble them until I'm ready to sleeve, and especially before I even know if the psu works yet (haven't built the rig yet). Still awaiting more parts.

Just started to do my AX750 and jeez, y so hard to de-pin Corsair!!! mad.gif

Anyway, back to a question i have. Aslong as the cables go into the right hole, does it matter if you switch the wire around so they are in line and not twisted around each other wire?

As long as the pins are in the corresponding slot it doesn't matter...you could braid the cables like hair if you wanted, lol.
