Gigabyte Z68 or Asus Z77 for 2500k? - Page 2

Get the UD5H or any ASUS. The UD3H doesn't look that appealing to me with VIA and atheros chips. Your H60 should easily take you to 4.5ghz.

now a mate has almost convinced me I should be getting ASRock Z77 Extreme4 - it definitely seems to have all the features I want - but I have never really held ASRock in super high regard.. are these good reliable boards?

What's wrong with Gigabyte atm?

And seriously what's makes you put AsRock over Asus? Please, don't say price smile.gif. When product is #1, the price is out of the question.
Best buck for the buck is not #1 wink.gif.

fyi my Gigabyte Z77X - D3H died on me 2 times, once couldnt power up they did a 1 to 1 exchange for me,
the 2nd time my cpu fan header is burnt, can smell the smoke. I have been using gigabyte board since the p45 days, so nope im not
anti gigabyte., but this time round they really falling in quality and stuff...

if you look around google im sure you can find cases of mb burned etc for the recent z68/X79

the uefi bios for the gigabyte isnt mature as well, i tried the new asus board its much better,
the gigabyte needs too much effort to make it work out of the box....

mobo burned? That was one model of X79 board and you don't' see any burning anymore. GIGABYTE Z77 boards are extremely solid. I am sorry your board died, but there are many others with that board and no issue like yours. The GB UEFi is very good IMO i have a M5E it doesn't' even have memory OC recovery lol.

GB's UEFi is very good IMO>
