My biggest problem when I had a U3011 was the heat that thing would put out. It was way too hot for my room which was already a boiler room. LED fixes that issue; my shimians barely get hot.

However, LED has it's own drawbacks.

Incorrect. It's AH-IPS, which unlike manufacturer branding isn't just another name for e-IPS, is actually another step in IPS tech. How it differs from H-IPS is unknown right now. That said I fully expected a much greater resolution given this is the same panel type Apple is using in the new Macbooks with the "retina" displays, so this comes as a bit disappointing.

Really? Can we trust that stuff? So this new panel, is it better than H-IPS? And higher resolution? Really? like how high are these supposed to go? I can't imagine squeezing in any more resolution on a 27" display, higher than 1440p

The newest Macbook Pro packs in 2880x1800 on its ~15" screen, and again it's the same type of panel, so it really shouldn't be that hard to scale it properly. As for if it's actually better than H-IPS, I don't know.

That is really a gimp. I hate these monitor manufacturers. Srsly, why are they keeping us at 1600p max while making 1080p a standard

So what exactly is the benefit of AH-IPS? Is it actually better than S-IPS or H-IPS in terms of color reproduction?
