It's like I said already, whether or not AH-IPS is any better than H-IPS is unknown. Pixel structure and LUT are also unknown.

This is weird when i change the 50,000 YEN to CAD it = 633.00 CAD (which in opinion is really affordable compared to the 2711)
But when i change over the $799 AUD to CAD = 841.501 CAD (id still keep my crossover over this price)

50,000yen price came from engadget link and the $799AUD, came from the aussie dell site, what do you think will be close to the north american price the 644CAD or 841.50CAD???

for $600 i think i would buy one, not for $850... but i just dont see it selling for $600 considering the dell 2711 is $800

actually the U2711 is $999 Canadian dell site and $899 on the Aussie dell site
so im assuming the new U2713 is going to be $899 CAD which makes it pricey still

My phone has an AH-IPS 720P display @ 4.5", and it looks stunning. I wonder how the Dell 2713 will look compared to the older Ultrasharps.

AH-IPS is most likely just marketing garbage like P-IPS vs S-IPS .

The main difference are:

U2713 has 100% sRGB Colour Space Coverage=Natural colours for games, movies and media while the U2711 is Wide Gamut= Over-saturation: sun burned red/pink skin tones, neon-greens

Contrast/Black Levels: The U2711 has below average contrast/blacks (the average is 850:1, the U2711's average around 750:1 out of the box and <700:1 after calibration), most of the newer LED back-lit IPS panels have 30% more contrast/30% deeper blacks (1100:1 native contrast).

The LED back-lit IPS panels have been less consistent and suffer from larger contrast variances though, so lets say you buy 2x HP ZR27440w, one may have a contrast of 700:1 while the other does 1100:1, expect the same thing from the U2713

Power Consumption should be much lower on the U2713, same with heat.

Wide Gamut CCFL displays used to commonly come tinted (each side of the screen is tinted pink or green/yellow or one side has a colour dominance), while the LED back-lit models typically have a dark horizontal brightness stripe near the bottom (only noticeable with whites and certain light colours).

Neither example is "marketing garbage". S-IPS is an evolution of vanilla IPS, and P-IPS is H-IPS with a 10-bit LUT (H-IPS being an evolution of S-IPS). AH-IPS seems to be a further evolution but details are unclear.

Exactly, marketing garbage. Calling a display a new kind of IPS just causes confusion and leads people into think P-IPS is vastly superior in every way vs H-IPS, give it a month and people will be claiming or asking how superior AH-IPS is vs x/y/z-IPS. The same can be said about e-IPS , many have assumed that e-ips<<<<X/Y IPS.

That's the fault of the consumer, it doesn't qualify the spec as "marketing garbage". There IS a difference.

E-IPS IS inferior to the other forms of IPS. It was made to be an economical form of IPS, and was never meant to compete with the higher-end IPS panels for color reproduction.
