the controller works fine with my xbox. i couldn't get the software to register the device. driver install just kept failing. i might just buy that one with the receiver though. rather than mess with some off brand stand alone receiver.

I have an Xbox wireless controller I use on my PC with no problems. I also use a wireless mouse, as does my wife, and my entire apartment is on Wifi (Asus N56) and i have never had signal problems. One thing I have noticed is that many multi-platorm games seemed to have been designed with the Xbox controller in mind so it seems to be very well supported. I am also planning on building a gaming HTPC soon, and I'll be getting another setup for couch gaming with PC graphics.... drooling at the thought.....

Thread Starter
If you guys are having driver issues with Windows 8 and the wireless receiver I found a solution:

Right click on Computer
Go to Properties
Click on Device Manager
Right click on the Unidentified Device
Go to Properties
Go to the Driver tab
Click on Update Driver…
Browse my computer for driver software
Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
Xbox 360 Peripherals
Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows
Update Driver Warning
Click Yes

Also note that you have to do this every time you unplug your receiver.

It's the Saitek (aka: Mad Catz) Cyboarg Rat 7 - Contagion Edition 6400dpi

Check the official link here - http://www.cyborggaming.com/contagion/

It's got inter-changeable weights, palm rests, pinky rests, and it can be set up at different lengths or angles to suit your hand size. You can choose red, blue or purple led setting. U can easily cycle through 4 customizable sensitivity presets plus it looks like a transformer!

It's an absoulte monster, and I'm so glad that I'm enough of a geek to spalsh out 85 solid English pounds out for it smile.gif

Gotcha I am familiar with the cyborg RAT in pictures only and never white. I figured it was maybe a regular one that you modified....sick controller btw. biggrin.gif
I hear very good things about that mouse and I love having tons of buttons on the mouse....most important selling point for me personally.

I forgot to mention, there are 3 thumb buttons. Up/Down select, and also an awesome sniper steady aim button wink.gif

Just read this thread! Wow, thanks for all the advice guys. I've been dying to get a wireless controller for my PC for the longest time...Basically I'd like to sit back and relax and play some games with a controller but I don't have one... So this thread made me purchase a wireless 360 controller for windows. Should be good! Can't wait to get it! Thanks guys!

For Racing games, I use my Logitech Driving Force Pro (from PS3 Gran Turismo) and then I bought the Microsoft 360 wireless controller (official for Windows) and have had no issues.
I use the 360 controller for games such as Devil May Cry and Sonic Generations, and then the steering wheel for all my racing games...
