Difference between D5 Vario pumps?

Thread Starter
Is there a difference between these pumps besides the price?

Koolance PMP-450 High-flow Pump $76.99 (P-PCs)

Swiftech MCP655™ Series 12 VDC Water Pumps $76.95 (P-PCs)
$79.99 (Sidewinder)
$119.95 (Frozen-CPU)
$94.95 (Xocide)

DD12V-D5 Pump Variable Speed by Laing $99.95 (Danger Den)

Also, what's up with these "Strong" pumps I see?? They all look the same to me

Koolance comes with rpm monitoring cable, you could for example use that to monitor that pump is running. Otherwise everything else is same. Strong version can use 24 V to run with higher pressure than normal Vario versions.

Almost all D5 pumps comes with a little device on the back of the pump that you able to control the rpm.

Koolance is the only company that I know of that has an voltage control device that controls D5 Strong's voltage.

I wasn't talking about rpm control, all Vario pumps have that. But Koolance version of Vario pump comes with rpm monitoring cable, unlike Swiftech's. See the blue wire ? Swiftech only has it on Basic version.

Just get the non-strong version with the speed adjustment and tach wire on the back, the tach wire would plug into the CPU header of the MB and in case the pump stops functioning your MB will power down the computer to protect it!
