The cockpit view is neat, although there's a lot of obstruction so I merely use it. I have nothing against this. Can't wait to see GRID 2.

seriously, it is not that big of a deal, and the game ITSELF is epic. myself...ill be buying it, and enjoying the sequel to what i think was the best most addictive racer.

I'm sorry that in your opinion a cockpit view isn't important but it is for some of us. Personally, I think the 3rd person view completely destroys the racing experience. I don't know if the game itself is epic because well ... I haven't played it yet, have you?
And no, I'm not dying because I won't have a cockpit view in Grid 2. I just won't buy it because, like I said, it completely destroys the game for me. And I don't consider the grid series arcade, it's far from realistic but far from NFS "cornering at 200 MPH with nitro"-arcadish. It's a nice middle-ground. A middle-ground where I would have liked a cockpit view.

I'm very sorry if that seems infantile and petty to you.

Still in pre-alpha stage atm (mid 2013 release), but its already my favourite racing game.

The game is updated every day/week/month depending on what "pack" you buy and there is loads more to come in terms of content and general physics/visuals/audio tweaking but its already quite solid at this stage.

I never play in cockpit view but it seems a bit silly to remove the choice for those that do. Surely they will change this before its released.

I never really use cockpit view myself. I like the view where you can see the whole hood of the car with no obstructions. For some reason I've always been better at judging distance and appropriate speed going into turns that way. I still think it's not cool to completely cut it out though. Who cares if it's an arcade type racer?

Um, looks like a racing game... but not necessarily the same formula as GT.

I dont know the progress so far but its going to be FAR from gran turismo like.

I mean we need a minimum of 300 cars (with the vast majority of them being road cars, Not race cars) in a GT like game cockpit view or not dont care, Decent handling physics but most importantly a tuning shop and a credits system with a decent single player mode.

I can not think of a single game on PC that does this, The closest to this sort of game is TDU2
