Same. This news completely ruined the release for me. I mean, I'll use the 'hood' view in games if I don't have a cockpit view but when available, I only use cockpit view. This if really effin' lame. Games are getting so crappy now.

Agreed with ^.

CM kicking themselves in the family jewels so damn hard! If they will do this with any of the newest DiRT games it will be riot time!

This is why I've never bought a Codemasters game at full price. Their lack of support and overall laziness makes so that the value of their games is well below $50. I'll probably end up getting this for <$10 during a Steam Sale, that is if it isn't a complete failure like DIRT 3 or DIRT Showdown.

I agree with some of you on the needing a good feature packed racing sim. Though I would say less GT like and more Forza like. I don't know about older GTs but GT5 was absolutely awful. It was more of a chore than an actual game. I shouldn't have to maintain my cars in a game. I already do enough of that in real life. Then you have the other issues like not being able to buy all of the cars at any time, having a poor selection of cars, and having an even poorer selection of premium cars.

Forza 4 does it right. There is no maintaining your car. You just select the car and go race. The tuning and upgrades were a lot more sophisticated and diverse in Forza 4 as well. You can buy any car you want at any time in Forza 4 as long as you have the credits to buy it. There is no stupid used car shop like in GT5 where you have to wait until the car you want "appears."

It's a shame Microsoft keeps Forza as a 360 exclusive. I would play it a lot more if I didn't have to fight with my brother for the 360 every time I wanted to play it.

There's a post saying "fine I guess I will just go play F1 2012, DiRT for my cockpit view..."

To you and everyone thinking this... If they used their in-house "survey" of THEIR games (DiRT, F1 etc.) to come to a decision to not include cockpits in Grid 2... How is it that you think the rest of CM games will not have cockpits removed?

Sad, sad times.

Yes, I do. It feels much more natural and is easier to hit lines consistently with a cockpit view imo. I understand using another view when using a controller or keyboard, but with a wheel it just feels confusing and wrong to me.

I won't play a racing game that doesn't have cockpit view. I don't use triple monitor eyefinity, 5.1 surround sound, a G27 wheel, to be... outside of the car...
Well, not going to play that game anymore. Cockpit view is the best way to play a racing game with a steering wheel.
