GT 640 vs 9800 gtx+ ??

Which of these cards is better, and approximately by how much %? as I'm not able to find any benchmarks yet for the gt 640

Also how does hd 6670 compare to a gt 640, performance wise, approximately how much % better is one over the other? I'm assuming 6670 is a little better than gt 640,and 9800 gtx+ beats both, but I'm not entirely sure

This is purely out of curiosity, I'm not planning on buying, nor do I own any of these and I know the gt 640 is bad price/performance.

An old high-end card is almost always better than a new low-end.
9800 GTX+ is the G92 chip, famous for allowing Nvidia to sit idly for years while ATi were desperately struggling to compete with this chip biggrin.gif

Also, 640 loses to 6670 by 5-10%.

EDIT: Corrections: 640 is between 440 and 450 in perf.
Now, those compared with the 9800 is the tricky part. 9800GTX+ is essentially a GTS 250.
My guess Is that it loses to the 640 by a bit.

EDIT2: 250 is roughly equal to 450, winning 2-5% in Dx9, losing 2-5% in Dx10.
Meaning that possibly the 9800 loses to the 640, but by a very small margin, and mainly in Dx10 titles.

interesting, so 6670 (by 10%) >gt 640 >( but basically = to ) 9800 gtx+

btw thanks for the great reply, that was very thorough and to the point, and you actually answered exactly what i was asking for in the original post, usually on forums with questions like this i expect such replies as "just get 6850 better price/performance" or "does it matter? both are weak"
