IE3 sudden hangs? IE3 -> new mice?

Hi, I got myself an IE3 and been using it for almost a year now I believe. Recently after switching to a new comp (after few weeks) the mouse just keeps hanging often and sometimes it doesn't even move in Windows despite having the LED totally switched on on the mouse.

Is this normal? If it isn't, is there anyway that I could stop/lower the frequency of it happening?

If it's normal then I might be tempted to switch to a new mice. Deathadder doesn't cut it (had a few and it just doesn't perform as well as IE3 imo), have a g400
but the switches feel hard compared to IE3. I'm fairly interested with Zowie Evo EC1. Is it any similar in comparison to IE3? Or is there any other mouse that is recommendable
switching from IE3?

I am a fairly mid sensitivity user - 6/11 windows 2.2 in-game (CSS) and am using Artisan Hien large.

i got the ec1 evo and i would say dont bother stick with ime 3.0... higher fps 9000 vs 6000 which makes it smoother. the scroll barely works on mine it pissed me off. also the coating is rly slippery. im a late ime 3.0 user and im using it planning to get another.

Are you using the black or white evo? I'm not sure why the IE3's that I've owned have this hanging issue, hoping that someone would be able to enlighten me. I don't think coating is an issue for me because I'm using artisan anti-slip on my IE3 which I can afford another one for the evo. How is the side coating compared with one another?

since theres a glossy one out now and you really want the mouse then get that for best grip... polling rates are unstable on 500 only 1000 is stable. about the coating i dont know sometimes im afraid to wash my hands because i get zero grip afterwards using it. idk some days it grips somedays it doesnt. the first month it didnt grip at all.

Ah, so you're using the black version.. Yeah I do know about the polling rates problem, and I don't think it would be an issue since I can just use 1000 and it would be a plus point since I don't really use 500.. I'm hoping that more experienced users would be able to answer my issue and about the evo ec1 too before making a purchase or stick with the IE3.

If I am reading this correctly, when you say IE3 you are talking about the Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0? If this is true then the Zowie EC1 eVo & the EC2 eVo are leaps and bounds ahead of that mouse. Everyone that I have talked to has said that it has the most amazing sensor they have ever used and the form of the mouse it just very fitting to your hand whether you have a claw grip or a palm. I am not sure of the mouse that you have regarding the issue, but I can vouch for, if you get a Zowie EC1 or EC2, you will not be disappointed. thumb.gif

Yes, I'm referring to Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0. Sorry if the term used isn't correct. Isn't EC2 evo smaller in size? Wouldn't that affect if lets say coming from a IME3.0? I use a palm+claw hybrid posture (not sure if this is the correct term to use, but it's like a mixture of both grips together in one)

Also one more thing, how is the coating like on the evo ec1? Is it any comparable to ime3 legends edition? Should I get the white or black version?

For me the shape is just too awkward for my hands. I'm already too used to shapes like ime3.0 or g400.. The deathadder just does not cut it out.
The BE I owned had a rubberised sides that is **** imo.
