Upgrade urges are taking over

Thread Starter
As it says in the title, I have an urge to spend money, I know I should wait for Piledriver (which I'll get aswell) but I want to upgrade to a 8 core bulldozer, the way I am justifying this in my mind is that in the last 6 months I have upgraded pretty much my whole pc except my 1090t, so I have another Rig that needs a processor. SO the 1090t will move along...

My question is does anyone know if there is a real difference between fx8120 and fx8150? these are my 2 options:

http://www.cclonline.com/product/68161/FD8120FRGUBOX/CPUs/AMD-Bulldozer-FX-8120-Black-Edition-3-10GHz-Eight-Core-Processor/CPU0061/

or

http://www.cclonline.com/product/68162/FD8150FRGUBOX/CPUs/AMD-Bulldozer-FX-8150-Black-Edition-3-60GHz-Eight-Core-Processor/CPU0062/

They appear to be the same chip just clocked differently, I have a 1000w PSU and an H60 water cooler along with a crosshair V Formula so I reckon I can overclock it a bit.

On top of this I would like to do a bit of benching with the 1090t and the FX, does anyone think this is helpful or has it been done enough.

Case CM Storm trooper
Mobo Asus crosshair V Formula
Processor 1090T oc 4ghz
RAm 8GB Corsair Vengance 1866 mha
SSD Mushkin 120GB
GPU Asus HD 7970 reference
PSU Mushkin Joule 1000w 80 plus gold

Everyone's input is appreciated, Thanks

Piledriver is like..... 3 months away? And a spec list of your rig would help.

Good point! But do you think you would notice the difference with a 1090t processor, one thing I didnt mention is that I got a Benq xl2420t monitor that has 120hz so if the 1090t could cope it would be a good option!

A 1090t at 4ghz will handle those just fine.

Don't the PII x6 chips stomp on the Zambezi chips? I'd wait and see what they bring and if they actually beat the chips you have...

I've read in a couple of places that the FX 8150 is pretty good when overclocked, but you have convinced me, I will wait for Piledriver and get another 7970 in the meantime.
