Upgrade urges are taking over - Page 10

Thread Starter
Hey Guys, well earlier in the posts after everyones advice I decided not to upgrade my CPU even though I think mine is dying, I will wait for piledriver and if it is as good as I hope it will be then I will get another HD 7970.

I am researching water cooling but I am going to plan it extensively before I start. I think I might do it post Piledriver.

And to satisfy the upgrade urge for the moment, I would like to thank everyone who posted graphics scores, after the GHZ flash edition my temps went up alot on my GPU so I ordered this:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-062-AR

It is fiddly to put together and will take even the best modder 6 hours as the ram and VRM heatsinks get glued on using this stuff called G1 and it takes 5 hours to cure!! but my max load temp is 48 degrees on Furmark. idle is 27 degrees.smile.gif

updated both with 4.5ghz runs today.

What clock speed were you running on your 670, and what games do you play? Do you have "Unigine 'Heaven' DX11 Benchmark," results?

I didn't take any pics of the actual swapping over as to be honest I was ****t**g myself, I have built loads of PC's before but never done mods, anyways it went well.

If you want I can post some pics of it this afternoon and I will post a heaven bench.

was running 1285mhz on core and 6900mhz on memory. on bf3/gaming settings i avg 49.7fps or something on heaven. straight out performance bench i get like 51.4-52.1 fps or close to that. no idea what i would get full/highest quality settings in nvidia control panel. a lot going on right now and cant be bothered to run em again for a few days or maybe this weekend. nevermind, i'll edit this post after i run heaven again in a few minutes after posting.

Can you run it with the highest settings? I don't know if you noticed, but it looks like the bios flash upped the voltage to 1.21 Volts on the gpu. Im gonna try and hit the bios switch just to make sure.
