Intel E5-2690 FLOPS

Thread Starter
Hello all,

Curious questions here. How many FLOPS do you think an E5-2690 Xeon would put out? If two were put on a dual-CPU server board, how many do you think they would put out together?

I have a buddy asking me about those coupled with a Tesla card... I do believe the Tesla card would put out about 1.2 TFLOPS.

Any thoughts?

-Blacker.

I tested M2090 with nvidia-HPL (double precision mode) on linux and I'm getting around 600-700 GFLOPS on a single card.

Wow, nice. How does that compare to a GTX690? I do hope someone has an idea of what the 2690's put out.

Awesome well thank you so much for the info, it is very valuable smile.gif. I've read GTX690's can put out over 5 TFLOPS, but I have no idea how reliable that is. I just read a release from Intel that says the E5 processors put out almost 350 GFLOPS a piece.

Supermicro X9 server board so no OC all stock as well as the ram..

EDIT: just incase you're curious also, dual E5-2620 + 64GB ram running linux linpack max power consumption is around 330-345 watts smile.gif
EDIT: oh by the way nvidia-HPL is a NDA software from nvidia, so you cannot download that anywhere =)
