Suggestion for most "bang for buck" laptop under $500

Thread Starter
I hear that the new line of AMD processors delivers the most bang for your buck but I was looking for some advice. Its use will be mostly for school, things like simple word document creation and PDF. Although I would be very happy if it could handle a couple of the games too such as bf3, starcraft 2... ect.. if you guys have any good idea's on affordable laptops feel free to post them.. Thanks in advance!

I'm in the same boat. I've been looking for a good laptop for a pretty low price. I haven't really seen anything from Intel with dedicated graphics under $500. You would have to rely on Intel HD3000/4000 graphics for gaming (which I could work for a quick fix [no serious gaming]). AMD might have it better on the low end if you do want to game.

My search still continues, if I see something I'll post it here. I thought I saw Tiger Direct was having a laptop sale this week but I haven't checked it out yet. Good luck! Maybe someone else has found a gem.
